Don't forget your torch when camping at Lower Treave!

With one year to go until the Olympic Flame arrives in the UK, London 2012 has announced the first 74 locations welcoming the Flame during the 70-day Olympic Torch Relay.

The Torch Relay will start from Land's End on 19 May 2012, carried by 8,000 inspirational Torchbearers. It will come within an hour of 95 per cent of the population of the UK....and within a minute of Lower Treave!

We've already taken bookings from guests who want to be at this once in a lifetime event and you can get full details of the rest of the route here http://www.london2012.com/olympic-torch-relay

Where Are They Now?

This great shot of a fledgling wren family was taken last year down by the pond by regular visitor Steve Thomas.

Lots of smaller birds around this year...sparrows, wagtails, robins, swallows; not sure what makes this a better year than others. There are more cereal crops in the fields than the usual cabbage and cauli. Perhaps they prefer cornflakes to veg?

On Yer Bike...!

Setting off from Lower Treave tomorrrow are the intrepid pedallers of moreadventure.

Tonight they bask in the sunshine of a Cornish evening, slightly breezy, but very pleasant, before climbing into the saddle for their adventure to John O' Groats.

JUST GASSIN'

You wait all week...and then two come along at once!

Steve the Gas takes a well earned break whilst queuing to get his lorry on site as his colleague refills the bulk LPG tank.

Steve works for Bennetts Gas of Penzance who supply all the bottles and cylinders to the park. They provide an excellent service and ensure you can keep the camping stove burning.

Give them a wave next time you see their lorry out and about in Penwith!
