. Two volunteers for Cornwall and The Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trusts have attended an event at Downing Street which celebrated their commitment to land and marine conservation work. Prime Minister Rt Hon Gordon Brown held a reception in the garden at Number 10 (on Wednesday 22 July) to personally thank the hard-working individuals who give their time freely to better our environment. Over 40 volunteers who work for The Wildlife Trusts across the UK were invited along with those from other environmental organisations. . The Prime Minister said, . "I am grateful for the contribution that people right across the country make every day to their local environmental and wildlife projects, giving up their time without pay. The inspirational work they do helps create a better world for us all. It is my pleasure to welcome these volunteers to No 10, so I can say thank you in person." .
